Making up for lost time

**Warning: a long picture post!**

We had a GREAT time with Auntie Kris and Uncle Barry. Auntie Kiss and Juju had a lot of time to make up for.
Kris had met Julia in September '09, a month after she came to the baby house, a few months before I became Julia's mom. Though she was not *mine* at the time, the obvious attachment had begun and Julia spent a lot of time with us during Kris's visit. Little did we know what would become of it all! Julia was a baby last time Kris was here. She's definitely not a baby anymore!
The connection was almost immediate. Skype and 3 cent per minute phone calls are awesome!! But the real deal is even better!
They had a great time playing, even from Day 1. Good thing Auntie Kris came to do some of the things Mama just isn't going to do. :-) Julia LOVED basketball.

Kris got to do all the fun aunt things she has missed out on over the past year.

We ended their trip with a safari. It was a HUGE blessing! Julia loves animals so she had a blast. She was adamant about seeing zebras. Usually, there are huge herds of zebras in the Mara, but we are just between seasons, and though we saw tons of cats and almost everything else, we only saw four zebras! Ironically, we see zebras all the time on our road to Nakuru, but that is all Julia talked about finding on each game drive. Crazy girl.

Kris and Barry have only been gone three days, but we miss them terribly!! Julia was really sad to see them leave. When I told her earlier in the day that they were going back to America that evening, she began her defense mechanism of shutting them out. Unfortunately, she is used to people coming and going, especially to and from America. But when they were leaving, she really wanted to "go with Kiss and Barr-Barr!" Really bad. It was so sad, but so sweet.
She will absolutely love going to America and getting to go to Auntie Kris & Uncle Barr-Barr's house! It WILL happen.....one day. And when that day comes, they will make up for more lost time.
We love you, Auntie Kris!
