Goodbye, House!

This past month has been a blur! I think I have lived in one long whirlwind. Two more days of school left, and I close on my house tomorrow! What a testament to God's faithfulness and provision! The fact that this process has gone so quickly is such confirmation that the Lord is in complete control and has every detail of my life in the palm of His hand. I am so thankful for that.

Happy Birthday to Us!

Yes, mine and Kris's birthday week still continues! It has been much different this year, as I honestly have no time to celebrate! And, I think this is the first year that I have not celebrated Birthday Week/Mother's Day with my mom. :-( We did have a girls' night at the Astros game with friends last night. And it was Fireworks night! Fireworks....all for me.

New Friend

Coincidence or another of God's well-laid plans of confirmation in His leading in my life? William gave me the name of someone to talk to who is home from Kenya for a few weeks. She works at the orphanage we will be visiting. Her name sounded familiar. I had heard her name (Jennifer Phillips) through another friend in Kenya. I called to see if we might be able to meet sometime while she was home. As it turns out, she just "happened" to be meeting someone at the Boston Market at Jones and West Rd....literaly the closest restaurant to my house! God brought someone all the way from Nairobi to my front door! As it turns out, she has already become more than a "contact person." I cannot tell how much I have already learned from her. She has been such a blessing. God answers prayers in ways that amaze me. Having another American to walk me through the process is priceless!

Invest in HCO

We would love for you to be a part of our HCO family through prayer or financial support. We depend on both!

The financial needs of this ministry can be overwhelming, but we trust that God, in His sovereignty, to continue to meet our every need as we serve His precious children in Kenya.

Could He be using you to help us meet these needs?

If you would like to invest in the ministry of HCO in Kenya and in the lives of those we work with, you may do so...

HOH Baby Center

Haven of Hope Baby Center is the focus project of His Cherished Ones International Ministry.  Haven of Hope is a home for abandoned and orphaned infants in Kenya.

Although there are hundreds of orphanages in Kenya, very few accept small infants due to the obvious high cost of care.  It is our desire to take in these smallest, most vulnerable of children and offer them a safe, loving home and the hope of a future.

HOH is home to infants and toddlers, up to age three. We hope to be a temporary home to these babies as they wait to find and be placed with their "forever families," whether through adoption or being reunited with their birth families.

We currently have six beautiful babies in our home. Haven of Hope operates as a home, rather than an institution. Therefore, our numbers will remain low so that our babies can have the true experience of living in a home, being cared for by family and growing in the love and joy of Jesus Christ.

My House

My house has been on the market for 2 1/2 weeks. I got an offer last night. I countered and they accepted. Craziness of it all...they request to close on May 24th! Less than 3 weeks away and the day before the last day of school! Wow! Things happen fast in my little world. From this point, I will just wait and trust that the Lord will continue to work things out throughout the next few weeks...inspections, approvals, etc.
