Baby Update - Elijah

 Elijah's First Week at HOH

Elijah Now
(16 months)

Elijah came to Haven of Hope when he was two months old. He had been taken to Nairobi Children's Home by a police department who reported that he had been exploited by a street woman who supposedly found him abandoned and began claiming he was her baby in order to beg for money.

The poor little thing was not a happy baby when we first got him. He was colicky and cried a lot. Yet, when he was not crying, he was the most mellow little fellow. It took awhile for him to settle in and get comfortable in his new home, but once he did, his precious little personality began to shine!

Now, this little man is truly a HAPPY baby! He went from being the most high-maintenance, crying baby to being the "easiest baby" in the house (and those are the words from the aunties)! He is absolutely precious!

And he is one of the funniest little babies I have ever met! Mr. Personality, indeed! It takes him awhile to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is the most loving little man.

He loves to play and laugh, and he LOVES playing outside.

Eli is a a great big brother! When William came into the home a few weeks ago, he was enamored with him and sat beside him, watching him and softly bouncing him in the bouncy seat.

Little Eli, my handsome boy, we are SO blessed to be a part of your life! I pray that you will grow to know the love of Christ and that you will always know that you are a special boy, created for great and mighty things. God has a plan and purpose for your life and it is good! Your name means "the Lord is God," and I believe that you will grow to be a great man of God who knows and testifies to that!

How can you pray for Elijah?
Pray that....
* we are able to attain the last document needed (a follow-up police report) to place him on an adoption registry,
* his inner joy would continue to shine, and that he will grow to know that joy that comes from Jesus,
* his future "forever family."
