Welcome, Ian! Our newest member of the boys’ house.
Ian will be with us for just one school term as his mom works to ready herself and prepare to take him back into her home. Ian has not been in school for some time due to lack of funds for school fees, materials, uniform, etc. He will be living with us while his mother looks for a place to relocate to. They have been living in a very unsafe area of Kibera slum in Nairobi. His mother does not have a job and is unable to provide enough food for the family. We are happy to provide a safe place for Ian to stay and to go to school while his mom prepares for their future.
Kennedy is one of our groundskeepers at Haven of Hope. Since we moved to Nakuru, I have been very impressed and encouraged by is work and his heart for ministry. Over the most recent few months, Kennedy has really stepped up and helped me out in so many unexpected ways. He has been invaluable in the process of setting up the boys’ home - making sure the boys’ histories are as we are told, coordinating the new school and headmaster, buying all the bedding, uniforms, additional cookware/utensils/etc, buying clothes for the boys, taking time with each boy to discuss all that is taking place, and so much more!
Thank you, Kennedy, for your servant’s heart and passion for the Lord’s work! It is so great to have someone who truly cares for these boys as you do, and who will take the time to minister to them. We appreciate you!
