A Kenyan Move

There are a hundred things I could be writing about that would be more encouraging, uplifting, or inspiring, but I'm choosing to share some pictures of my move to my new house.

I moved to a wonderful new house last week! I am loving it! God blessed me with a great little efficiency apartment for my first few months here. But as I began to settle in, have guests, and bring my kids to town, it wasn't as convenient as it was in the beginning. Especially when I wanted to bring the boys in for a visit, one room just didn't cut it. I would have to stay with friends anyway. So, God blessed me again with a great place!! In fact, it is in a compound with several people from my church. It's like a little cottage. Very cute.

It was the craziest move I've ever experienced! In the States, I would be horrified if my personal belongings were handled in such ways. Somehow, it becomes so natural here.

Kris would be so disappointed in these packing skills. Again, in the States this would drive me crazy, but for some reason, it was perfectly acceptable to cram everything in the back of my car with no semblance of order whatsoever!

Yep, that's my TV in a tour van. Nope, it's not wrapped or packed in anything. (That's one of the perks of working with mission teams...free access to tour vans when moving.)
It was an interesting experience.
We made it safely to my new house, and one week and two days later...I'm spending my first night in my new home! Just once before I leave for 6 weeks.

Almost Home!!!

I have not been very good at updating the past few weeks. In short, I have been extremely busy! But it has been great!! God is doing so many big things, opening great doors, and revealing His hand in all things!

In less than 24 hours I leave Kenya to go home to Texas for a month. I am SO excited to be at home, but so not ready to leave here!! But that will make it easier to leave there when it is time to return in Kenya. I am at the crossroads of many things, ready to begin some great new projects when I return.

I cannot wait to get home and share about the amazing things God has been doing here! I am so thankful to be a part of what I am seeing and experiencing, and I am grateful for my dear friends who are also a part of it, making it possible for me to be here. I look forward to seeing each of you!!!
