Sugar cane is a favorite treat for Kenyans. They eat it straight from the cane, or suck on it, rather. First of all, this stick is HARD! And they use their teeth to bite it off!
Even little BJ, my friends' precious son, joined in the fun!
I am so happy to be back with these boys! I have missed them, and missed time hanging out with them in our backyard. They are a great group of boys.
Speaking of these great boys, please pray for Humphrey. He has applied to a new high school and had his interview/exam on Friday. High school, public high schools, are very competitive and difficult to get into. Up to now, he has been attending school far from our house. He has to walk to the highway and then take a matatu to the edge of town. We are hoping and praying that he will be accepted into this new school, a very good school, which is just down the road from our house. Humphrey is a great student. At his old school, he finished 6th out of 114 students. But this "new" school is competitive, and there are 56 students vying for 20 open positions. Please pray for favor and for the Lord's will to be done! We will know the results on Tuesday.

Ah how fun! Hope y'all get to enjoy some nice avocados from your tree too! When I left, some of them were getting pretty large. Oh and hopefully the banana trees produce lots of fruit :) We'll be praying for Humphrey.
